About the shop
Salida Mountain Sports is the locally owned outdoor shop on F Street, a block from the Arkansas River. Backcountry skis and splitboards, trail running, hiking, climbing and river gear, plus a full ski shop, rentals and the beta to use it all.
A gear shop for the Arkansas Valley
Salida sits between the Collegiate Peaks, Monarch Pass and the Arkansas River, and the shop is built around that. We carry the gear people here actually use: touring setups for the skin track on Monarch, shoes that hold up on the S Mountain trails, layers for a 14er morning, and dry bags for Browns Canyon.
We are a retail shop and a community hub. Folks stop in for a boot fit, a ski tune, a rental, a resupply box or just to ask where the snow is good. Every piece of gear on the wall is picked, fit and tuned by people who get out in this valley year round.
